Rhythm Hit Song Of The Week: Anne Marie – 2002

Rhythm Hit Song Of The Week: Anne Marie – 2002

by | 7th May 2018

This weeks Recommended Hit Song comes from talented British singer/songwriter Anne Marie.

Anne-Marie has released new single “2002”, and it’s a slice of upbeat pop that harks back to the eponymous year.

The pop track which was co-written by Ed Sheeran is taken from her debut album, “Speak Your Mind” and is about falling in love during adolescence and all the emotions that it brings.

This track is also anchored around a chorus that sees her referencing some of the era’s biggest hits including JAY-Z‘s “99 Problems,” *NSYNC’s “Bye, Bye, Bye” and Britney Spears’ “…Baby One More Time” and “Oops!…I Did It Again.”

“Oops I got 99 problems singing bye, bye, bye/ Hold up, if you wanna go and take a ride with me/ Better hit me, baby, one more time,” Anne-Marie sings.

This single is a hit so we have decided to make it our “Rhythm Hit Song Of The Week”.
