Road To Cardiff: Champions League Quarter-Final Draw
English side Leicester City have been drawn against Atletico Madrid in the quarter-final of the Champions League. They will travel to Spain to face Diego Simeone’s side in the first leg on April 11 or 12, with the return leg a week later.
Champions Real Madrid face Bayern Munich in the standout tie of the round, with Zinedine Zidane’s side aiming to become the first team to defend the title successful
Real’s clash with Bayern sees Xabi Alonso return to his former club in his final season before retiring. Alonso spent five seasons at the Bernabeau and won the Champions League with Real in 2014.
Another reunion will take place when Juventus full-back Dani Alves return to the Nou Camp to take on former club Barcelona in a repeat of the 2015 final. Luis Enrique’s side won that 3-1 in Berlin and the Spaniard is looking to reclaim the trophy before stepping aside as manager at the end of the season
Barcelona face Juventus after booking a place in the last eight with their astonishing comeback against Paris Saint-Germain, while Borussia Dortmund will take on Monaco.
Monaco face another free-scoring side Thomas Tuchel’s Borussia Dortmund The German side, third in the Bundesliga, beat Benfica in the previous round.
