Nigerian singer Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael, well known as Zlatan made the list of nominees for 2019 Artiste of The Year Award, a category of the Silverbird’s Man of The Year Award.
After the nomination; fans of the “Zanku” crooner are expecting the talented artiste to go home with the award, despite him having six other nominees to compete with.
Born 19 December 1994, Zlatan who is also known as songwriter, won the Airtel-sponsored One Mic talent show held in Abeokuta, Ogun State in 2014.
On his music career, Zlatan stormed the music scene with Olamide-assisted track “My Body” in 2017, which made him gain recognition in the Nigerian music industry.
Zlatan’s exposure increased, after his collaboration with Chinko Ekun and Lil Kesh in the 2018 hit single, “Able God.”
One of Zlatan’s most remarkable moment in his music journey occurred when he stormed the music scene with a new dance routine and song title called “Zanku.”
While music enthusiasts within Nigeria and beyond were dancing to “Zanku” dance and song; Zlatan released the Davido-assisted track “Osanle” towards the end of 2018, and “Glory”, before being featured on Burna Boy‘s “Killin Dem”, in early 2019.
His fans were still savouring the taste and flavour of his songs before he was featured on Ceeza Milli‘s “Flenjo” and Naira Marley‘s “Am I a Yahoo Boy”, which also went viral.
Zlatan in 2019 received three awards at the Afrinma Awards. He walked away with the ‘Best Collaboration Award’, ‘Best New Act’ and ‘Song of the Year’ award.
On endorsements, Zlatan has not only been singing, but signed an endorsement deal with Coca-Cola, on 26 July 2019,
Indeed, with Zlatan’s achievements in contemporary Nigerian music, he has proven to music lovers, home and abroad that he is worthy to be crowned 2019 Silverbird’s 2019 Artiste of The Year.
