Sokoto State Government is giving high level attention to education by spending billions of naira on schools construction and renovation across the state.
Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal stated this Saturday, while inspecting the ongoing construction of additional block of classrooms and total renovation of Government Day Secondary School, Tambuwal.
He explained that schools all over the state are being expanded and rehabilitated, while new ones were being constructed where necessary in order to provide a conducive atmosphere for effective teaching and learning.
Tambuwal added that the State Government, will continue to accord top priority to the education sector, to ensure a better future of children, to enable them compete favourably with their contemporaries globally .
The governor also called on the people of the state, to continue to support and cooperate with the state government in its execution of policies and programmes in that direction.
He expressed satisfaction with the level and quality of the projects which have reached advanced stages of completion.
The construction work comprises additional blocks of classrooms, laboratories, Exam hall, admin block, library among others.
The governor was accompanied to the visit by his Deputy, Manir Muhammad Dan Iya and some senior government functionaries.
