The mother of Speed Darlington Queen has made an emotional plea for the release of her son, who was arrested after a petition filed by Burna Boy.
This development occurred after the Nigerian singer Speed Darlington, also known as “Akpi,” was arrested in Lagos last Friday following a petition filed by Burna Boy.
In her plea for the release of her son, she went on her knees in a video, asking Burna Boy for forgiveness and urging him to “tamper justice with mercy.”
While pleading for the release of her son, revealed that her son is her only child and begged Burna Boy to show compassion. She also appealed to Nigerians and fans of her son to intervene and help secure his release.
Burna Boy allegedly had Speed Darlington arrested due to cyberstalking accusations as the case has attracted attention, with many awaiting Burna Boy’s response.
According to reports, Burna Boy accused Speed Darlington of cyberstalking, which led to the petition. Speed Darlington was first apprehended by the police in Lagos before being transferred to Abuja for further investigation.
Deji Adeyanju, a lawyer involved in the case, confirmed that Speed Darlington had been detained and moved between locations after his arrest. Burna Boy’s allegations appear to be tied to comments or content posted by Speed Darlington online, which Burna Boy deemed offensive enough to warrant legal action. Speed Darlington’s mother has since publicly pleaded with Burna Boy for her son’s release.
The case is still developing, with Speed Darlington currently in police custody in Abuja as of the latest reports.
