Champions League: PSG Knock Out Bayern Munich On Away Goals

Paris St-Germain were beaten on the night but held on to claim an away-goals victory over holders Bayern Munich that takes them through to the last four of the Champions League.

Neymar twice hit the woodwork for PSG in the first half and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting then put Bayern in front five minutes before the break.

Missing the injured Robert Lewandowski, the reigning European champions lacked their usual ruthlessness up front and could not get the second goal they needed after losing 3-2 at home in the first leg last week.

Kylian Mbappe thought he had sealed the tie with just over 10 minutes to go, but after breaking clear and firing in the assistant’s flag ruled his effort out.

PSG have revenge following their 1-0 defeat in last season’s final in Lisbon, and the dream of winning a first European Cup remains alive for the Qatar-owned club.

They will face either Borussia Dortmund or Manchester City in the semi-finals, with the latter holding a 2-1 advantage going into Wednesday’s second leg in Germany.
