Suge Knight Sentenced To 28 Years In Prison
One-time record producer and rap mogul Marion “Suge” Knight, has been sentenced to 28 years in prison for killing a man during a 2015 hit-and-run.
In September, Knight, 53, pleaded no contest to the fatal hit-and-run that took the life of Terry Carter on the set of the film “Straight Outta Compton.”
Knight, wearing an orange jumpsuit and glasses, showed no emotion in court Thursday as relatives of Carter gave emotional statements, describing their loved one as a devoted family man and peacemaker.
The former Death Row Records co-founder had been facing life in prison for Carter’s death and one count of attempted murder in the case of Cle “Bone” Sloan, who was maimed after Knight allegedly struck the pair with his truck.
His record label helped launch rappers including Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg.
The incident happened after an argument over the making of Straight Outta Compton, a biopic about rap group NWA.
