The Super Eagles have moved up four spots to the 44th position in the latest ranking released by world’s football governing body FIFA.
Nigeria’s new ranking on the list reflects the recent run of matches in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
This means that Super Eagles are now third in Africa, behind only Tunisia (22) and Senegal (25).
Other top ranked teams in Africa include Congo DR (46), Morocco (47), Cameroon (51), Ghana (52), Burkina Faso (57), Egypt (58) and Côte d’Ivoire (64).
On the global scene, Belgium tops the list, leading with 1733 points ahead of France who have 1732 points.
