Super Eagles Rise In Latest FIFA Rankings Despite Early AFCON Exit

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have moved up three places in the latest FIFA rankings released by the world football governing body, despite their early exit from the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Now ranked 33rd globally and third in Africa, the Super Eagles were ranked 36th and fifth on the continent in the preceding month.

Newly crowned AFCON champions, Senegal not only retained their position as the highest-ranked African country but also moved from 20th to 18th in the global ranking.

The Moroccans are Africa’s second-highest ranked team and they occupy the 24th spot globally.
