Renowned Nigerian singer and songwriter Temilade Openiyi, well known as Tems, will perform at the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.
The Grammy winner who will be sharing the stage with Latino hip-hop star J Balvin and American rapper Doja Cat will perform at the first-ever halftime show at a FIFA tournament, in an event organised by FIFA in partnership with global citizens.
Interestingly, this is not the first time the Superstar will be performing in a major sporting event, as she joined Burna Boy and Rema as headliners for the historic Afrobeats NBA halftime show in 2023.
Considering the busy schedule of Tems, especially in 2025, the talented singer, during a recent London concert, announced that her sophomore album will be released in 2026.
Going down memory lane on one of her feats, the superstar’s debut album, ‘Born In The Wild’, enjoyed huge commercial success in 2024.
Recently, Tems was also awarded the Billboard Diamond Award during the Billboard Global Players event, which also had in attendance hip hop icon Olamide.
She received the award at the Billboard Global Power Players event, which also had in attendance Nigerian iconic rapper Olamide also received an award as part of the global power players.
Others are the RIAA certification she earned after her hit single ‘Love Me Jeje’ received a Gold certification, and recently added four new RIAA certifications to her collection. Extending her record as one of the highest RIAA-certified Nigerian artists, whose success has positioned her as a global star.
Recently, one of her biggest hit songs, ‘Love Me Jeje’, won her second Grammy award for Best African Song Performance at the 67th ceremony.
