The Federal Government has declared Friday 22nd February 2019 as a Work-free Day to enable Nigerians prepare for the rescheduled Presidential and National Assembly elections on Saturday 23rd February 2019.
The Work-Free Day excludes workers providing essential services such as Banks, Hospitals, Airlines and Security Services amongst others.
The Honourable Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen. (Rtd) Abdulrahman Bello Danbazua who declared the Work-Free Day on behalf of the Federal Government enjoined Nigerians to keep faith with the Nation’s electoral system.
The Minister urged Nigerian to use the work free day to travel to their various polling centres to exercise their civic responsibilities of voting for the candidate of their choice.
Danbazua reassures Nigerians and international observers of the safety of lives and properties during the elections as security agencies have been directed to remain vigilant and conduct themselves professionally throughout the exercise.
