Nigerian digital firebrand and social media critic, Martins Otse, well known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), is once again in the spotlight – this time for clearing the air on two viral claims making the rounds: one alleging he was bounced from Obi Cubana’s grand 50th birthday celebration, and another claiming he was deported from China.
The drama began when media personality Radiogad took to social media with what he framed as insider info—that VDM had tried to attend the billionaire’s birthday bash at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, uninvited and was turned away at the entrance. According to Radiogad, he personally received an invite but couldn’t make the event due to being overseas, subtly suggesting VDM tried to “force vibes” where he wasn’t welcome.
But in true VDM fashion, the controversial influencer fired back—loud and clear. In a rebuttal that didn’t mince words, he slammed Radiogad’s claims as “fantasy content for clout,” adding that people like him are desperately waiting for him to fall so they can trend off his name. “You wish I was bounced. You wish I was deported. But I’m still standing, still trending, still VDM,” he declared.
As if that weren’t enough, Nollywood actor Uche Maduagwu and comedian Deeone fanned the flames, alleging that VDM had been deported from China—another unverified tale that lit up social media.
VDM, however, shut down that narrative too, labeling it a concoction of haters and keyboard warriors. “Nobody deported me. I came back when I was done. But they won’t post the truth; lies get more clicks,” he said.
As the rumor mill keeps spinning, VDM remains unshaken, urging his loyal followers to “focus on facts, not fabrications.” Love him or loathe him, one thing’s for sure—VeryDarkMan knows how to command attention and clap back in style.
