Nigerian music superstar Wizkid has once again elevated the global Afrobeats scene with the release of his sixth studio album, Morayo.
The album which dropped on November 22, 2024, this 16-track masterpiece offers a profound blend of Wizkid’s signature Afrobeats rhythms with emotive melodies and heartfelt storytelling.
Interestingly, the album also serves as a deeply personal homage to his late mother, Jane Balogun, whose passing in August 2023 profoundly influenced its themes.
Wizkid shared that Morayo captures his reflections on loss, love, and resilience while celebrating life’s enduring beauty.
The album showcases stellar collaborations with global heavyweights such as Brent Faiyaz, Jazmine Sullivan, Asake, Anaïs Cardot, and Tiakola, further enriching its sonic palette.
Standout tracks include the introspective “Troubled Mind,” the dance-ready “Kese (Dance),” and the infectious “Bad Girl” featuring Asake.
These tracks highlight Wizkid’s ability to merge introspection with vibrant beats, appealing to diverse audiences.
Released under Starboy Entertainment and RCA Records, Morayo has been met with widespread acclaim, cementing Wizkid’s status as a trailblazer in global music and a pioneer of modern Afrobeats.
