Wizkid’s “Daddy Yo” Will To Be Used For “Pacific Rim Uprising” Soundtrack – John Boyega
British/Nigerian actor John Boyega has revealed that Wizkid‘s hit song “Daddy Yo” will be included in the soundtrack for his forthcoming movie, Pacific Rim Uprising.
Boyega, who is one of the casts of “Star Wars” took to his Twitter page to share this information, posting a video of himself dancing to the song.
One of the most exciting things about producing Pacific Rim Uprising was the opportunity to influence the creative choices. So I put @wizkidayo song “Daddy yo” in the movie. Jaegers need afrobeats too!
Oh yeah… here’s a video of me listening to this very song. Listening ish.. pic.twitter.com/3LIxAkkTtn

When asked about the upcoming movie and his character’s background, John Boyega explained he made sure to show that his character, Jake Pentecost (son of Idris Elba’s character, the late Stacker Pentecost) was Nigerian.
“I actually produced Pacific Rim and what that meant is that there were ways which I could cater the character towards much more of a Nigerian background. I made him Nigerian and we went through a whole process in which we put moments that reflected his culture in the movie.”
