Xenophobic Attack In South Africa: Gbajabiamila To Reconvene Sitting

The recess of the House of Representatives may be cut short to reconvene sitting, following the continuous killings of Nigerians in South Africa.

However until a decision is reached after a meeting with the speaker and presiding officers on Wednesday; since it is not clear when the House will reconvene.

This latest development followed a tweet by the speaker Femi Gbajabiamila who expressed displeasure at the continuous attack of Citizens in South Africa and the need to bring an end to it.

Speaker Gbajabiamila who will be cutting short his trip to Tanzania for the 50th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference was meant to arrive on Friday September 6.

National Assembly Correspondent Grace Ike reports that all effort to speak with the House Committee Chairman on Media and publicity proved abortive.
