Yemi Alade: Singer Accuses Radio Stations Of Blacklisting Her Music

Nigerian artiste Yemi Alade has publicly accused two Lagos-based radio stations of blacklisting her songs.

Alade, 35, in a post via X stated that the station had invited her to perform at their December 2023 event, but she couldn’t make it.

After reaching out to apologize, she felt ignored by them. Unknown to her, the managers of the stations held her absence against her, resulting in her music being blacklisted from their platforms for nearly a year.

The singer revealed that her music had been off their playlists for over a year following a dispute related to a free show she failed to attend.

Despite apologizing for the incident, Alade expressed frustration with what she described as “fake people playing God,” accusing the stations of gatekeeping the industry.

Her comments have sparked widespread discussion online.

Below are some comments made by the singer on social media.
