Peter Obi Applauds Chidimma Adetshina For Her Remarkable Journey To Global Recognition

Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Chidimma Adetshina, the first runner-up at the 2024 Miss Universe competition, for her exceptional achievement on the global stage.

The former Governor of Anambra State, in a statement on X (formerly twitter) reflecting on her remarkable journey, highlighted the resilience, perseverance, and dedication that defined Chidimma’s rise to stardom.

“I followed with keen attention, the journey of our Nigerian beauty queen, Chidimma Adetshina, and her rise to stardom. I can only describe her journey as a demonstration of resilience, perseverance, and dedication,” he stated.

Renowned for championing platforms that celebrate talent, Silverbird has been instrumental in nurturing and showcasing Nigerian beauty queens on the global stage.

The Silverbird Group, organisers of the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant, provided the foundation for Chidimma’s success.

Through their meticulous organisation of the 2024 edition of Miss Universe Nigeria, Silverbird ensured a fair and transparent competition, where Chidimma emerged as the winner. This victory was more than just a title; it became her ticket to representing Nigeria internationally.

Beyond the pageant, Silverbird actively prepared Chidimma for the global stage. The organisation’s resources were pivotal in her grooming, training, and exposure to media and cultural representation.

Chidimma herself acknowledged this in an emotional post, thanking Silverbird for “turning her dreams into reality” and “adding more fuel to her journey”

Obi celebrated Chidimma’s victory as a triumph of hope and determination, noting that her success against over 120 contestants from across the globe, and securing Africa’s top spot, is a significant achievement. “Through her struggles and the very challenging times, she held on to faith, hope, and her determination to rise to the top. And today, she has emerged victorious,” he added.

Calling her a “symbol of hope,” Obi emphasized how her journey inspires Nigerian youths navigating challenges in their pursuit of greatness. “Never give up, no matter how hard the journey; success lies ahead,” Obi encouraged. He reaffirmed his commitment to fostering a “New Nigeria” that creates opportunities for talented young individuals like Chidimma.

Chidimma Adetshina’s achievement resonates as a testament to her strength, and Obi’s recognition underscores her role as an emblem of national pride and youthful aspiration.
