President Tinubu Hails Tems On Grammy Win

President Bola Tinubu has extended heartfelt congratulations to Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, for her victory at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

Tems secured the Best African Music Performance award, marking her second Grammy win and further cementing her place as a global music icon.

Speaking on behalf of the nation, President Tinubu praised Tems’ exceptional artistry, highlighting how her success continues to bring pride to Nigeria and elevate the country’s standing on the international music stage.

The President also celebrated the remarkable rise of young, multi-talented Nigerian artists who have propelled Afrobeats to worldwide prominence, making Nigeria a powerhouse of musical creativity and cultural influence.

“From Africa to Antarctica, Asia to Australia, Europe to the Americas, the Nigerian music industry, particularly Afrobeats, has become a source of national pride, promoting a sense of identity and self-expression while uniting people across borders,” he remarked.

Beyond Tems’ victory, President Tinubu acknowledged and congratulated other Nigerian artists nominated for this year’s Grammys, including Yemi Alade, Asake, Wizkid, Lojay, Davido, and Burna Boy. He commended their unwavering dedication and creative excellence, noting that their contributions continue to put Nigeria on the global map of musical achievement.

“You are all inspirations and role models to many young people. The nation remains deeply grateful for your contributions to music, job creation, and tourism promotion. I wish you all continued success in your musical careers,” President Tinubu added.
