The Nigerian gospel music community is in mourning as it bids farewell to one of its most spirited voices and towering figures — Bolaji Adedotun Olanrewaju, fondly known as Big Bolaji or Big B.
The vibrant gospel minister, whose energetic worship sessions left a lasting imprint on believers across the country, passed away at the age of 50 after a brief illness. His family confirmed the sad news on April 19, 2025.
A man of deep faith and electrifying charisma, Big Bolaji wasn’t just a singer — he was an atmosphere shifter. From the pulpit to the stage, his presence radiated joy, power, and an unshakable devotion to God. His flagship worship experience, Turn It Up with Big Bolaji, became a spiritual hotspot, drawing multitudes who gathered to lift their voices in unrestrained praise.
But his ministry extended far beyond the spotlight. As an ordained pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Big Bolaji ministered with conviction, humility, and an unyielding sense of purpose.
