As the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) celebrates 20 years of elevating African cinema, the 2024 ceremony promises an electrifying evening filled with talent, glamour, and powerful storytelling.

Scheduled for November 2 at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Ikeja, Lagos, this year’s awards will showcase African excellence in film and music, headlined by iconic performances from Nigerian music legends Femi Kuti and 9ice.

This landmark edition gathers an impressive roster of African film stars, with Nigeria’s Femi Adebayo, Ghanaian actress Jackie Appiah, and Kenyan actor Kenneth Ambani among the expected guests.

In addition to the awards, a series of events like the AMAA Africa Night of Legends and a fashion showcase will provide a creative backdrop to celebrate African culture and pay homage to AMAA’s late founder, Peace Anyiam-Osigwe.

With over 60 prominent actors and filmmakers from across the continent set to attend, this year’s nominees, including Nigeria’s Jagun Jagun and South Africa’s The Queenstown Kings, highlight the vast diversity and creativity of African cinema.

The 20th AMAA isn’t just a night of awards—it’s a testament to African storytelling’s impact on global culture and a vivid celebration of the continent’s cinematic legacy.
