Africa’s leading virtual cinema platform, has launched the Film Veterans’ Dignity Fund—a visionary initiative aimed at honouring and supporting industry legends aged 70 and above.

This development is a groundbreaking effort to celebrate the pillars of Nollywood.

This program provides a lifetime monthly stipend and comprehensive health insurance through Nem Health Insurance, ensuring that these cinematic trailblazers receive the recognition and care they deserve.

The inaugural award ceremonies took place from January 30 to February 1, 2025, across Lagos and Ibadan, with three legendary figures receiving the first honours:

Chief Pete Edochie, MON

Idowu Philips (Iya Rainbow)

Chief Lere Paimo, MFR

Each honouree was presented with a commemorative award, their first stipend, and full enrollment in the insurance program. Overwhelmed with gratitude, Chief Lere Paimo described the recognition as one of the most meaningful tributes of his career.

The initiative has received high praise from Nollywood stakeholders, with veteran actress Kate Henshaw commending Circuits for acknowledging the industry’s pioneers while they are still here to witness it. Beyond financial and medical support, the Film Veterans’ Dignity Fund serves as a testament to Nollywood’s rich legacy, ensuring that those who built the foundation of Africa’s biggest film industry remain celebrated and cared for.

As Nollywood continues to expand its global influence, Circuits is setting a powerful precedent—reminding the industry that while the future is bright, the past must never be forgotten.
