Afrobeats heavyweight Davido has sent waves of excitement through the music industry after teasing an unreleased track from his much-anticipated fifth studio album, ‘5ive’.
Taking to social media, the superstar shared a snippet of the song with the simple yet electrifying caption: “I can’t wait”—a clear indication of his eagerness to drop what many predict will be another game-changing project.
Set for release on April 18, 2025, ‘5ive’ will house 17 tracks, continuing Davido’s legacy of delivering hit-packed albums. Fans have already gotten a taste of what’s to come with two singles:
‘Awuke’ – A high-energy fusion of Afrobeats and Amapiano, featuring Jamaican Dancehall artist YG Marley. Released on October 31, 2024, this track showcases Davido’s ability to seamlessly blend global sounds.
‘Funds’ – A collaboration with Nigerian sensations Chike and OdumoduBlvck, keeping anticipation at an all-time high.
Beyond these early releases, ‘5ive’ is also expected to feature a powerful collaboration with Omah Lay, who has hinted at the song’s magic. Meanwhile, Adekunle Gold’s rumored guest appearance is fueling speculation about even more heavyweight features on the album.
