International Men's Day 2024

Every November 19th, the world pauses to recognize and celebrate the invaluable contributions of men to society through International Men’s Day (IMD).

This annual observance is more than just a celebration; it is a call to action, shining a light on the challenges men face and encouraging solutions for better societal balance.

Founded in 1999 in Trinidad and Tobago by Dr. Jerome Teelucksingh, IMD was inspired by his father’s positive influence and the broader need to highlight male health, promote gender equality, and champion responsible role models.

The 2024 theme, “Positive Role Models,” emphasizes the importance of nurturing values such as integrity, resilience, and respect in younger generations.

The day also creates a platform for open conversations about pressing issues men encounter, including mental health struggles, societal expectations, homelessness, and violence. These topics spark necessary discussions, fostering empathy and collaborative action.

IMD is celebrated globally through seminars, community events, and media campaigns that not only honor male achievements in diverse fields but also advocate for a more inclusive and balanced world.

It serves as a reminder that building a society where all genders thrive requires collective respect and acknowledgment of everyone’s unique contributions.

By celebrating International Men’s Day, we take a step closer to a harmonious and equitable future for all.
