Osimhen Speaks After Scoring Brace, Sustaining Injury

Super Eagles of Nigeria and Galatasaray football club player, Victor Osimhen has made comments regarding his first set of goals against Kasimpasa and the injury he reportedly sustained in the match.

This development comes after fans have been anticipating goals from the prolific player who has been instrumental to the club with some assists since he arrived at the club.

However, Osimhen’s superb performance in the match came with an injury he sustained, after making four key assists this season, to help keep the Turkish giants at the top of the Turkish league.

Considering the state of his injury, there are speculations that the chances of the reigning African Player of the Year playing the next AFCON 2025 qualifiers against Libya on October 11 and October 15 are slim.

Osimhen was substituted at halftime after scoring two goals against Kasimpasa last Saturday.

Speaking after the game, Osimhen shared his thoughts with the club’s official website. He said,

“I do not have a serious injury. I felt a little discomfort. I thought I should tell my coach. If I reduced the team, it would be bad. I did not want my teammates’ performance to drop. I told Mauro and the coach. That is why I left the game.”

After the second goal, Osimhen displayed a jersey announcing ‘finally’ to Galatasaray supporters that he has indeed justified their huge support for him since arriving in Istanbul.
