Silenced For Faith: Odumodublvck Speaks Out After Headies Incident

Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has ignited a conversation about faith and freedom of expression following an incident at the 2025 Headies Awards.

During his acceptance speech, his microphone was abruptly turned off, a move he attributes to his mention of Jesus Christ.

In a candid post on X (formerly Twitter), Odumodublvck expressed his perspective:“I WAS TALKING ABOUT JESUS AND THEY TRIED TO SHUT ME DOWN. I AM HUNDRED PERCENT SURE THAT IF I WAS TALKING ABOUT HIS EXCELLENCY GOVERNOR BABAJIDE SANWO-OLU I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN CUT OFF.”

Despite the interruption, he holds no resentment towards the event organizers, stating, “I GENUINELY HAVE NO BAD BLOOD TOWARDS THE HEADIES, RATHER, I AM GRATEFUL THEY PUT MY MIC BACK ON TO SPREAD THE GOSPEL.”

Odumodublvck’s outspoken faith is not new. In a previous interview, he shared his journey to Christianity, crediting his mother for guiding him towards faith during challenging times. He emphasized the importance of personal belief, stating, “I’m nobody’s role model. Jesus is there. Follow Jesus.”

The incident at the Headies has sparked discussions on the balance between religious expression and event protocols. While some view the microphone cutoff as a suppression of faith, others see it as a standard procedure to maintain event schedules.

As conversations continue, Odumodublvck remains steadfast in his message, using his platform to advocate for his beliefs and encourage others to explore their faith.
