Suspected Fraudsters Shoot Collaborator In ₦94 Million Fraud

A troubling case of greed and betrayal among suspected “Yahoo boys” (internet fraudsters) took a violent turn over a disagreement about how to divide ₦94 million obtained through fraudulent activity.

The dispute escalated to the point where one of the collaborators was shot during an argument over the “sharing formula.”

The incident reportedly occurred on Okhoro Road in the Egor Local Government Area of Edo State. The victim, who had been instrumental in orchestrating the scam, was attacked by his accomplices after failing to agree on the proceeds’ distribution.

This highlights the volatile nature of criminal partnerships, where greed often outweighs trust or loyalty.

Authorities are now investigating the case, using it as a grim reminder of the increasing dangers associated with cybercrime. Law enforcement agencies are emphasizing the urgent need to combat internet fraud, which continues to threaten societal stability and public safety in Nigeria.

This violent fallout among fraudsters underscores the broader security challenges posed by cybercriminals, who are willing to resort to extreme measures to protect their ill-gotten gains.
