Global Afrobeats star Wizkid has shaken up his North American fan base with the sudden cancellation of multiple stops on his upcoming Morayo tour, originally scheduled to run from June 5 to June 22, 2025.
The tour, named after his sixth studio album, was expected to hit major cities like Atlanta, New York, Toronto, Houston, and Los Angeles, with a grand finale planned at the Hollywood Bowl alongside the Color of Noize Orchestra. The cancellation has left fans stunned and speculating as they scramble for answers.
While Wizkid’s camp has remained tight-lipped about the abrupt decision, insiders hint at “logistical complications” and “unforeseen challenges” behind the move — echoing his 2023 postponement of the More Love, Less Ego tour under similar circumstances.
Social media platforms have since lit up with a mix of disappointment and concern, with fans expressing heartbreak over the missed opportunity to see one of Afrobeats’ biggest exports live. Some are already calling for new dates or, at the very least, an explanation.
Despite the setback, Morayo — released in November 2024 — continues to make waves. Featuring collaborations with Brent Faiyaz, Asake, and Jazmine Sullivan, the album cracked the Billboard 200 at No. 98 and soared to No. 4 on the World Albums chart, reinforcing Wizkid’s global clout.
For now, ticket holders are being directed to contact vendors for refunds as the Starboy remains silent on his next move. Whether this is a brief pause or the beginning of a bigger change, one thing’s for sure — the world is still watching Wizkid.
