The Super Falcons, Nigeria’s national women’s football team, have yet to receive the $100,000 cash gift promised to them by President Bola Tinubu following their performance at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
Team captain, Rasheedat Ajibade. Ajibade, in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, revealed that the team did not receive the promised funds, along with other promised rewards like houses and national honors.
Tinubu had announced the reward during a reception for the team, which also included the women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, who also received similar promises.
