Victor Boniface: Chelsea Eye Bayer Leverkusen Striker

Super Eagles and Bayer Leverkusen striker, Victor Boniface is currently being scouted by English Premier League side, Chelsea.

This development comes as Transfer News Live reported that Boniface is on the watch list of several European clubs, as he joins other Nigeria players who are also wanted by clubs in Europe.

Going memory lane, Boniface had an impressive campaign with the Belgian Jupiler Pro League club, and later joined Leverkusen last season for €20m from Royale Union SG.

With 21 goals and 10 assists, Boniface has contributed to 31 goal involvements in 39 games in fantastic debut season in the German Bundesliga.

The prolific striker made a difference with outstanding performances, contributing to Leverkusen’s Bundesliga title and the German Cup.

Leverkusen also got to the Europa League final but did not win the title as compatriot Ademola Lookman’s hat trick for Atalanta beat the German side in the final.

As the 2024/25 season begins, the Akure-born striker has continued scored four goals and one assist already in six games. This outstanding performance has triggered a potential move with the player said to be on Chelsea’s radar.

“Chelsea have scouted Victor Boniface in recent weeks as they track his progress at Bayer Leverkusen,” Transfer News Live reports.

Meanwhile, talented Super Eagles striker, has also attracted interested from clubs in Europe on Thursday.

Ahead of a potential move next summer, TBR football’s Graeme Bailey, EPL trio Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspurs and Newcastle had their scouts in attendance during the UEFA Champions League between Atalanta and Arsenal last Thursday to watch the former Everton player.

Another Nigerian football star, Victor Osimhen has attracted interest from Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain, who are still monitoring his process.

Leverkusen will hope they can keep hold of their striker again having ward off the Nigerian from Manchester United last summer, while Chelsea are now keeping track of Boniface.

Boniface, 23,  who was a top target of the Premier League giants during the transfer window has a price tag of £47m being placed on him by the Bundesliga champions.

According to Transfermarkt, Boniface is currently valued at €40m and with four years left on his running contract, Leverkusen will hope to make a sizable fee on the striker if they decide to sell him.
